Designer Bio:

Neval is a Chicago-based luxury brand redefining modern fashion through a globally inspired lens. Specializing in intricately crafted bomber jackets and scarves, Neval distinguishes itself with handwoven textiles and meticulous attention to detail. Founded in June 2017 by designer Anadil Johnson, the brand made its striking debut with a collection featuring Jamdani—a rare, ancient tapestry weaving technique native to Bangladesh, Johnson’s birthplace.

Sourced directly from craftspeople in the Golden Village region, Jamdani’s rich cultural legacy is woven into every piece, reflecting Neval’s commitment to socially conscious fashion. “By only working with certified, free-trade organizations, we empower the weavers with new skill sets that open up their craft to a larger international market,” says Johnson. This ethos fuels Neval’s long-term mission to celebrate rare global textiles and the stories behind them.

Though globally sourced, Neval is proudly rooted in Chicago, where each garment is designed and manufactured. “Chicago is the perfect place to produce our collection,” Johnson notes, citing the city’s strong Midwestern work ethic and dedication to quality craftsmanship. As a champion of the slow fashion movement, Neval creates garments designed to endure—both in form and meaning.

Every Neval piece carries a story—or a secret. The geometric patterns on the Boho Monarch* bomber jacket echo tiger’s paws, not flowers. The scarves draw inspiration from regal sashes worn by 17th-century emperors. And both signature jackets? Fully reversible—because duality and detail are part of the brand’s DNA.
