Mend with Friends: A Community Repair Workshop

Date: Thursday, October 16, 2025

Time: 5:30 - 8:00 PM

Location: Chicago Fair Trade Museum & Store - 4704 North Broadway, Chicago, IL 60640

Join us every third Thursday of the month at the Chicago Fair Trade Museum & Store for Mend with Friends, a hands-on, community-driven workshop designed to help you extend the life of your favorite garments. Whether you’re a pro with a needle or a beginner looking to learn, this monthly event invites all skill levels to come together, repair clothes, and make new connections in a fun, supportive environment.

Mending your clothes not only saves you money but also reduces waste and keeps your loved items out of the landfill. Bring your worn clothes, and we’ll provide the tools and professional guidance from fiber artist Kristine Brandel to help you repair woven and knitted items. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own materials as well!

Sessions take place from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with $10 admission (free for Chicago Fair Trade Members). Not a member yet? Become one for just $50 and enjoy free access to all Mend with Friends workshops, along with discounts on other Chicago Fair Trade events and at the Museum Store.
